About us:

Our SMYM Melbourne South-East group was inaugurated by Bishop Bosco Puthur and Chancellor Fr. Mathew Kochupurackal in 2016.

Our community is one of the largest youth groups in Melbourne. Melbourne South East.

The youth within the community meet up regularly, AMF (Annual Monthly Fellowship every second Saturday) and Youth Gathering (every fourth Sunday). Programs that have occurred within our community include Youth Conferences, Sports Tournaments, St. Thomas Day celebrations, Bible Quiz and charity work within the community.

Lockdown has been hard for everyone, and not be able to socialise is a big thing and brings a toll in our faith life as well, and we bought many sessions to help us all to be closer to God and to be closer in our community.

However since we are out of Lockdown, we are bringing more and more events, retreats and fellowship to our youth

What we have achieved:

Retreats: Once a year we hold a retreats for youth for them to come together as one and worship our Lord almighty

Unwind: During Covid time, we opened a platform through zoom for the youth to come together and talk about anything without any barriers.

Sessions: We have our little sessions for the Youths every month to equip them about their life for their journey with Jesus.

Charities: Donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society

We are currently initiating 2 youth gatherings every month.

Adoration: A monthly adoration prepared and led by Youth. Happening every 2nd Sunday of the Month

Session: This is a structured session led by a speaker on certain topics. Happening every 2nd Sunday of the Month

Fundraisers: Helping support our youth community financial, aiding in future events. Happening every 3rd Sunday of the Mont

Youth Gathering: A time of fellowship where we gather around give updates to the youth of events and the future. Happening every 4th Sunday of the Month

SEEK'22 RETREAT

From the 28th to the 31st of July Participants from our Melbourne South East Parish attended SEEK , a Youth Residential Camp run by the Sliha d'Msiha!

Participants engaged in Team building Activities, Intriguing Sessions, Panel Sessions where they were able to ask questions about relevant topics in our society and experience Personal Sharings from members of the Mission Team .
